Golden Square Wealth Management Limited

Colin Morgan has re-joined Ledingham Chalmers Financial Services Limited as its Managing Director and the company has changed its name to Golden Square Wealth Management Limited. Colin brings his wealth of experience of over 30 years during which he has advised clients on wealth management, financial planning and tax mitigation.

The new name reflects the firm's roots in Aberdeen's Golden Square and the wider spread of client base following Colin's arrival. The company is now administering the financial services requirements of clients of both Ledingham Chalmers and Burnett & Reid. Ledingham Chalmers LLP retains the controlling ownership interest in the company with Colin holding a significant stake in its success.

Ultimate Responsibility

In 1999 a family of four were tragically killed following a gas explosion in Larkhall. The gas supply company Transco plc was charged with culpable homicide, a first for Scotland. In 2003, however, the Justiciary Appeal Court dismissed the charge as the Crown had failed to pinpoint the "directing mind" of Transco. The Court rejected the Crown's argument that this rested in one of Transco's committees or, ultimately' its board of directors.
